Life Guardian
Hey Wikia, i've been an admin here at PvXwiki for a while and still do not have CheckUser. Could you possibly add me to the checkuser usergroup? Thanks. <span style="font-family:fantasy;border-top:3px dotted #AAAA99;"><span style="color:#AAAAAA;">Life</span>&nbsp;<span style="color:#006699;">Guardian</span></span> 09:56, July 30, 2010 (UTC)

::::Honestly, have you had yourself tested? Misery knows what checkuser is dipshit. Wikia has been really stingy about handing out checkuser rights, we have to get a wikia admin to grant them in each individual case. We've known this for about a year now. Didn't need your helpful little tidbit. Good lord.--TahiriVeila 08:38, August 14, 2010 (UTC)

::::::You could be less of an annoying twat. There's no need for link/source. There has never been anything posted about it on the wiki, because if you needed to know angela would have told you. You're not an admin. You're not a friend of an admin. You need to shut the fuck up and get your nose out of business that doesn't even begin to concern you.--TahiriVeila 08:42, August 14, 2010 (UTC)

:::::::Also in the case of Checkuser, it is a very important tool of PvX admins to counter sockpuppets, vote stacking, and things of that nature. It also helps combat banned users coming back as vandals. And Wikia is stingy with the Checkuser rights. And I would know, I have them. ===Permanent deletion===

http://pvx.wikia.com/index.php?title=User:Star_of_Exile/PvX:Hawt_or_Not&action=edit&section=141 is made to defame a person. As the person is charged of a major crime without linking to a Courts conviction this contribution is by itself a criminal offence and needs to be permanently deleted if the hosts of this site do not want to partake in that offence. As a permanent deletion can neither be done by a user nor a Bureaucrat and I could not find any other appropriate contact address, I posted this here in the first section of the Wikia noticeboard. The Wikia Noticeboard

This is a place where issues that only a Wikia Staff member can sort out. These issues will usually pertain to coding problems, relating to our PvXCode, or even the wiki's numerous extensions and special pages.

Please remember that PvXWiki has it's own Admin Noticeboard, and if an issue can be solved by an admin, post the issue there and not here.

To post an issues, please add it to the bottom of the section which the issue belongs, give the issue a suitable heading (Using a level 3 heading (3 ='s either side of the heading) E.G. ===Special:RecentRatings=== if there's a problem with the Recent Ratings page). Underneath the heading, give a brief discription of what's wrong, and sign and date your issue with 4 ~'s.

Note that this is not a talk page and that the respective moderators of each section reserve the right to remove non-administrative comments without discussion.

User Rights issues

This section is for issues related to user rights that Bureaucrats cannot modify. Archived issues for this section can be found here.

General Coding issues

These issues are generally related to the software, and any extensions that are installed (please note hat PvXCode has it's own section below). See here for archived issues.

Rating Page Lock

We need a way to lock rating pages from additions and removals(Like a page protection). Also useful for archived builds, to keep the rating page unchanged. ~~     Frvwfr2     talk    contribs    admin   16:53, 13 May 2008 (EDT)

I agree, but also for deleted builds. — Balistic 22:03, 20 February 2009 (UTC)
I'm a lot late, but given how deleted ratings work that is impossible. ··· Danny So Cute 19:26, 14 January 2010 (UTC)
given that all deleted/none-existent build ratings are one one page, it's not that huge an issue >.>. But in regards to the original suggestion, yes a rating page lock would be nice, when I get chance I'll give Wikia and e-mail. ~ PheNaxKian talk 19:51, January 14, 2010 (UTC)

Recent Ratins

Would it be possible to add a talk page link and rate page link to the recent ratings page? Useful for those of us who patrol it and want to see the new vote instantly.----Signature-Liger414The Liger is looking for a HA guild 20:06, 9 June 2009 (UTC)

SSL/SOCKS and Ratings

Right now, users surfing the web via UltraSurf, and quite possibly other secure proxy networks, cannot view Ratings pages. When a Ratings page is served to a user behind UltraSurf, an error is thrown.

Set $wgShowExceptionDetails = true; at the bottom of LocalSettings.php to show detailed debugging information.

Now, were this an isolated case, I wouldn't bring it up. It's along the same lines as browser compatability in a lot of aspects. However, Wikia, like many other information sites, is blocked by the Great Firewall of China, therefore automatically excluding any users from that region from participating in vetting or even viewing the ratings. Seeing as most, if not all, other pages are served correctly, this must have to do with an exception in how the ratings page is served.

Search

Using the search bar will give lots of results that have been moved or deleted, making it rather ineffective at its intended purpose. ToraenTheJanitorToraenSig2 13:40, 18 September 2010 (UTC)

The cache is probably set to a very low update period. Probably to prevent server load. It'd be nice if this could be taken care of, but I'm not holding my breath - I'm sure they don't change these settings for other wikis (unless they're receiving ludicrous amounts of traffic). Daññy 22:22, September 19, 2010 (UTC)
Our Job Queue is at around 370 pages (I imagine that's the Archived builds considering we've not done anything else to make it not 0, certinaly not that effects 370(+) pages). I don't know what the "jobRunRate" variable is set to, so i can't give a definite "time" as it were (it decreases on page views, not actual time), but by default I believe it does one page per page view (which i don't think it will be for us because we rarely have a job queue), but you can set it to run less frequently (not sure on the limit, but MW says you can have it set to "1 job run per 100 page views").
tl;dr: give it some time and it'll "fix itself" as it were. ~ PheNaxKian talk 00:33, September 20, 2010 (UTC)

PvXcode issues

Coding issues related to PvXcode. See also PvXwiki talk:PvXcode. See here for archived PvXCode issues.

Health Sacrifice Costs

These do not show up at all in the mouseovers of skills. ToraenTheJanitorToraenSig2 14:15, 11 September 2010 (UTC)

Some examples: <pvxbig> [Dark Pact][Offering of Blood][Barbed Signet] </pvxbig>

Primary Attributes

Spawning Power's effect on weapon spell duration was increased from +2% per rank to +4% per rank. Fast Casting has had a significant rework, and is split between PvP and PvE.

Leadership shows a modification to the cost of shouts, but should probably instead show an additional effect in the skill description along the lines of Divine Favor:

You gain 1 energy for each ally affected by this shout (maximum X) - (X is leadership/2 rounded down)

Some shouts only affect the user, and thus should read:

You gain 1 energy - (only if Leadership is 2 or greater)

It was suggested a while ago that the attributes should have mouseover descriptions as well. ToraenTheJanitorToraenSig2 14:15, 11 September 2010 (UTC) <pvxbig> [build prof=P/any leadership=12+1+1 command=12+1]["Stand Your Ground!"]["Go For the Eyes!"][/build] [build prof=Mo/any divinefavor=12+1 healing=12+1+1][Word of Healing][Spotless Soul][/build] </pvxbig>

Incorrect Pictures

Most notably, Lightbringer Signet and Whirlwind Attack use incorrect icons. There are some others as well, like Pain (PvP). ToraenTheJanitorToraenSig2 14:15, 11 September 2010 (UTC) <pvxbig> [Lightbringer Signet][Whirlwind Attack][Pain (PvP)] </pvxbig>

(PvP) Skills and Template Codes

When (PvP) skills are added to a build template, they generate an invalid code. There has been much discussion on possible solutions here and other places. ToraenTheJanitorToraenSig2 14:15, 11 September 2010 (UTC)

I'll talk to Uberfuzzy about it. Karate KJ for sig Jesus 19:29, 11 September 2010 (UTC)

Another note on (PvP) skills; most of them do not have skill icons. --Toraen 01:47, 15 November 2010 (UTC)
